We’re excited to officially welcome you to PTA Ideas, a brand-new space created especially for Parent Teacher Associations across the UK. Whether you’re a long-standing PTA chair, a newly recruited volunteer, or someone who has just agreed (perhaps reluctantly!) to “help out a bit”, this site is here for you.

PTAs play a vital role in school communities. From fundraising for new equipment and experiences, to bringing parents, carers, teachers and pupils together, the work you do makes a real difference. But let’s be honest — running a PTA isn’t always easy. Time is limited, volunteers are stretched, and coming up with fresh ideas year after year can feel overwhelming. That’s exactly why PTA Ideas was created.

Our aim is simple: to provide practical advice, achievable ideas and genuine inspiration tailored specifically to UK-based PTAs. No unrealistic plans, no massive budgets required, and no assumption that you have endless free time. Just clear, useful guidance that works in the real world of school life.

At PTA Ideas, you’ll find fundraising ideas that are proven and adaptable, tips on increasing engagement from parents and carers, advice on organising events, and insights into making the most of your PTA committee. We’ll also explore ways to build inclusive, supportive school communities — because a strong PTA is about more than just raising money.

We know that every school is different. What works for a small rural primary might not suit a large urban school, and vice versa.
